On January 13, the price of high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia was 7,000-7,200 yuan/mt (50% metal content), unchanged from the previous trading day. Recently, ferrochrome prices have remained in a stalemate. With major domestic stainless steel mills issuing delivery notices and the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, the downstream market is expected to enter the pre-holiday stockpiling phase, leading to a slight recovery in market transactions. Nevertheless, due to reduced retail production by ferrochrome manufacturers earlier, retail supply in the market remains tight, making it difficult for prices to break through. However, the overall supply surplus has not been fully resolved, and pessimistic market expectations persist, hindering any price increase.
